New Multi-State Digital Campaign Calls on Policymakers: Protect Americans’ Freedom to Invest

September 17, 2025

Media Releases

September 17, 2025: Freedom to Invest is rolling out a new digital campaign across the nation’s capital in the coming weeks, urging policymakers and the public to safeguard Americans’ ability to invest freely and responsibly.

The campaign features a series of six compelling new ads from the perspective of a fifth-generation farmer worried about losing access to bank loans, to a lifelong firefighter facing threats to his pension, to a middle-class family planning for retirement, to a broad appeal about America’s future and the dangers of politicizing antitrust. Together, these ads underscore one clear message: political interference and special interest efforts are putting ordinary Americans’ financial security at risk.

These ads will run in Washington, D.C., with a particular focus on the Capitol Complex. With an initial six-figure budget, this campaign will run on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn until the end of the year.

“Americans deserve the freedom to invest their money in ways that protect their families, their retirements, and our nation’s future,” said Steven M. Rothstein of Freedom to Invest. “When politicians block banks, pension funds, or investors from considering real risks—whether its climate impacts or supply-chain instability—they are undermining our financial system and threatening livelihoods.”

Across the country, policymakers are threatening the ability of investors and businesses to invest and operate responsibly. Recently, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed an antitrust lawsuit against major asset managers, falsely alleging collusion in their climate-conscious investment practices. Conservative leaders and institutions, from former Texas Governor Rick Perry to the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board, have called out the lawsuit.

This new campaign comes as more bipartisan voices speak up to champion the freedom to consider all financial risks in decision-making. Next week, Freedom to Invest will host a main stage event at Climate Week NYC at the Nest Climate Campus on Wed., Sept. 24, with former Republican Congressmen Carlos Curbelo (FL), Bob Inglis (SC), and Ryan Costello (PA), as well as representatives from center-right organizations, R Street and the National Taxpayers Union. They are part of a growing chorus of bipartisan leaders working to safeguard investor rights and free market autonomy.
